How to Recreate This Manicure
Opaque Noir Base Layer
Apply a single coat of deep jet black or midnight plum gel polish to create a deep contrast shadow for the velvet particles.
Magnetic Cat-Eye Coat Application
Apply an even coat of black cherry magnetic gel polish. Do not cure yet.
Velvet Magnet Manipulation
Hold the neodymium cylinder magnet parallel along the top, bottom, and both side edges for 8 seconds each to push shimmer particles into an all-over velvet sheen.
Diamond High-Gloss Cap
Finish with a glass-finish top coat to give the velvet depth the appearance of being suspended under liquid crystal.

Magnetic particles move back into suspension if you wait too long between manipulating the magnet and curing. Always cure each finger immediately.
Can I do the velvet effect with regular polish?+
Regular air-dry magnetic polish dries quickly, requiring very rapid magnet placement, but gel polish provides far superior depth and working time.
